Aragorn's Outfit Part 1

I have always admired Aragorn's outfits, espically his ranger outfit when you first see him in the "The Fellowship of the Ring". I have wanted to try to make a cape like his (the hobbits, and Legolos as well), for sometime. Well, I am finally going to make one, but not for myself.

My brother asked me the other day if I could make him Aragorn's outfit. Of course, being a girl that loves sewing, I said yes. Little did I know what I was getting myself into at the time. It was only when we went to Joann's yesterday that I realized what I was doing.

I could not find any patterns whatsoever, that had his outfit. You can find Eowyn and Arwen's dresses, but there is one pattern that has Legolos, Elrond, and Aragorn's coustumes, but that is out of print. So, I have to combine several patterns to make it. I am really looking forward to that part. The other part that I am dreading is finding the right fabric to go with the patterns.

Anywho, I DID get fabric and patterns yesterday. It will not be completely like Aragorn's in the movie, but I think it will be fairly close.

Here is what I will be doing.
For the blouse/shirt I will be using this pattern

For the vest:

I will make the green one, but make it longer and take the things hanging off the shoulders.

For the jacket I will leave off the hood and make it shorter so it will look like this:

Here is the pattern I plan to use for the Jacket:

For the wristlets he wears:
I will be using this pattern:

I thankfully have not told my brother that I am using a dress pattern for the wristlets. *giggles*

Last but not least.................THE CAPE!

I am using this pattern:

It should be fun putting this all together! I am looking forward to it. :)

Well, I will keep updating this as I go, but for now TTFN! :)
